INTRODUCTION

The foundry produce a full range of iron, steel, steel-base and more exotic quality rolls, discs and sleeves ranging in weight from 10kgs to 12 tonnes finished weight.

The following types of rolling mills are supplied; rod, bar, light and medium section, billet, strip and tube, along with discs and rolls for hot and cold straightening and reeling.

Castmaster Roll with a long tradition of rollmaking extending almost one hundred years is a specialist producer of rolls for the steel industry for rod, bar, light and medium sections, billet, narrow strip and tube mill applications. Rolls are also produced for the non-ferrous and food processing industries.

Conventional rolls, discs and sleeves for cantilever stands, Reeling and Roller Straightening are supplied in a comprehensive range of steel, adamite, iron and special alloys grades, up to a maximum roll size of 1,150mm diameter by 4,300mm long and a delivered weight of 12,000 kilos.

Machining

In the machine shop, rolls are rough-turned, finished-turned, faced, drilled, ground and milled to meet the most exacting customer requirements.
Facilities include Computer Numerically Controlled lathes, Milling machines and multi purpose CNC Machining centres for finish turning operations.

CNC programmes are produced in association with Computer Aided Drafting and transmitted by cable direct to the CNC facility in accordance with production controlling scheduling.

We offer the facility for rolls to be delivered in the following conditions

• Finished grooved

For new installations a comprehensive roll supply, finish grooving and template service is available.
